Right before Christmas, I had a huge burst of energy, and started trying to tackle a lot of projects around the house. I wanted to share one of those projects with you today.
We have a mudroom right inside our back door. It’s also the door we use all of the time. Most of our friends and family also use that door as well. I love having the mudroom, and I am pretty sure it use to be a patio between the house and the garage. There is one thing I dislike about the room. Because it is an add on, there is that awkward inside window that I have never been sure what to do with. I have been searching for wood shutters with character for a while that would fit the window. Most of the ones I loved were more than I wanted to spend for this project. I am not really handy enough with power tools yet to make my own. (I hope to change that this year)
Because the height of the shutters weren’t exactly right, I used some trim we had in the garage and added a couple pieces at the top staggered, and one piece at the bottom. I really just cut them to fit snug, and gave them a little tap into place with a hammer.
